Summary:
Vitruvian Man (or man of Vitruvio) is a concept presented in the work "The ten books of the Architecture", written by the Roman architect Marcus Vitruvius Polius, from which the concept inherited the name. The concept is considered a canon of the human body proportions, according to a certain mathematical reasoning and being based, partly, in the golden proportion. This way, the man described by Vitruvio comes as a model for the ideal human being, the one whose proportions are perfect according to the classic ideal of beauty.
